This handmade poseable fabric doll portrays a depiction of the greek god Dionysus, god of wine and pleasure.
This god in modern time has become a symbol of trans people, described as "A patron god of hermaphrodites and transvestities" by Roberto C. Ferrari in the 2002 encyclopedia of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Culture.
On his chest, this doll has been embroidered with a tattoo showing a grapevine growing over his top surgery scars.
This doll was also on display in The Gender Garden Art exhibit in Melbourne https://gender.garden/niamh-noble
